Marié 2026 Season Fishing Report | Persistence Through Changing Waters Week 11 | October 19–25

Giant peacock bass fishing on the Rio Marié demands more than determination. It requires patience, consistency, and the ability to recognize opportunities even when conditions are far from ideal. During the eleventh week of the 2026 season, those qualities became essential.

With mixed weather and a river that rose slowly throughout the week, anglers faced challenging conditions that demanded focus from the first cast to the last. Rather than letting those challenges define their experience, the group stayed committed to pursuing trophy peacock bass, working closely with their guides to make the most of every opportunity.

As the days progressed, persistence became the week's defining characteristic. Success did not always come quickly, and each encounter required careful attention, precise presentations, and the determination to keep searching. Almost every angler finished the week with a big peacock bass, reinforcing an important lesson about fishing the Amazon: challenging conditions don't eliminate opportunities. They make experience, preparation, and consistency even more valuable.

The eleventh week reminded all of us that the most rewarding moments on the Rio Marié aren't always the easiest to achieve. Sometimes, they come after days of searching, countless casts, and the unwavering belief that the next opportunity could be the one that matters most.

   River Conditions:

Water levels rose slowly throughout the week, creating changing conditions across the fishery.

As the river continued to rise, anglers had to adapt their approach and maintain consistency. Careful observation and the guiding team's experience remained important throughout the week.

   Weather Conditions:

The eleventh week of the season brought mixed weather, with water temperatures averaging about 26°C.

Variable weather added another layer to an already demanding week, requiring anglers and guides to stay attentive throughout each fishing session.

|Unforgettable Moments of the Week

Reginald's Five-Minute Giant

On the third day of the week, Reginald had barely started fishing when a giant peacock bass attacked his fly. Less than five minutes in, he was already fighting a remarkable 20-pound peacock bass.

An unforgettable start to the day that earned Reginald a well-deserved place on the Rio Marié Wall of Fame.

Parker's First Peacock Bass Experience

Fishing for peacock bass for the very first time, Parker spotted a giant guarding its nest in a lagoon. Using a sinking line, he carefully presented his fly, and the fish took it quickly.

A memorable encounter that delivered exactly what Parker had traveled to the Rio Marié hoping to find.

Frederick's Long-Awaited Dream Fish

Frederick's day began with a beautiful 17-pound peacock bass, but an even more meaningful encounter was still ahead. After spotting a fish in the distance, he and his guide closed in, made a precise cast, and watched a giant rise from the dark water.

After two years of waiting, Frederick finally held his 19-pound dream fish. A moment that made every cast and every bit of determination worthwhile.

|Looking Ahead

As the 2026 season moves forward, rising water levels will continue to demand close attention and adaptability from anglers and guides.

Week 11 demonstrated that even when conditions become challenging, consistency and determination can create remarkable opportunities. The guiding team's knowledge, combined with each angler's commitment, remains essential to making the most of what the river offers.

On the Rio Marié, success cannot be measured by numbers alone. It is also found in the patience required to pursue a trophy, the decisions that turn an encounter into a catch, and the unforgettable moments that bring anglers back to these waters year after year.
