Rio Marié 2019 Season Fishing Report
October 17-24
Weather: We had warm weather this week with some strong showers and overcast days. Temperatures ranged from 27-32°C.
River Conditions: The water levels continuously rose until the end of the week, which reduced the temperature of the first layers of lakes.
Fishing Conditions: Water conditions continued to impact fish activity, and the fish were far more active on sunny days. The sinking and intermediate lines continued to be very useful in the lakes and streams. We started the week at about the confluence of the Rubo River and the Marie, and we descended to the easternmost limit of our exclusive fishing area looking better water conditions. This strategy led to good results!
Fishing Stats:
Number of anglers: 10
Butterflies caught: 183
Temensis caught: 44

Highlight of the Week:
The fishing conditions were a challenge, but our guests pushed through and had a great week! One guest who had never fly fished before caught his first fish on the fly as well as a good number of peacock bass. And among other highlights, Mitch caught a 23.5-pound giant!
