Weather Conditions:
The week began with a refreshing rain that set the stage for the days ahead, followed by clear skies and brilliant sunshine. Temperatures ranged from 21ºC to 39ºC (70ºF to 102ºF), creating a dynamic environment for both anglers and fish.
River Conditions:
The water levels experienced a subtle rise midweek, a response to the early rain, but began to stabilize as the days progressed. This slight fluctuation brought a mixed impact on fishing, challenging our anglers while keeping the anticipation high.

Highlights of the Week:
Jack Greenhalgh, arriving with his father, anticipated an adventure on the Marié River, but nothing could have prepared him for what happened on the very first morning. With rain cascading down, Jack’s first-ever peacock bass turned out to be a colossal 89cm (35 inches) giant, weighing 24lbs—a dream catch that set the tone for an unforgettable week.
In contrast, Jan Viebrock’s journey was a testament to persistence and resilience. After five days of near misses and elusive giants, Jan, guided by Lucas, finally had his moment on the final day. As the giant fish struck, the excitement was so overwhelming that Jan found himself in the water while trying to net the beast. But success was sweet—he landed his dream giant peacock bass, a true testament to the rewards awaiting those who endure.
Looking Ahead:
As we move deeper into the season, the anticipation for what lies ahead grows. The Rio Marié is just beginning to reveal its secrets, and with each passing week, the potential for extraordinary catches remains high. Our anglers can look forward to more incredible moments as the season unfolds, with the river’s giant peacock bass continuing to challenge and reward those who dare to pursue them.
