Despite the fast-rising water, the Marié delivered another unforgettable week filled with great energy, teamwork, and impressive fish. The group — led by Chris from USA — brought enthusiasm, humor, and a spirit of camaraderie that perfectly matched the river’s rhythm.
The shifting conditions made every day a new challenge, but persistence paid off once again. Multiple fish over 20 lbsand several above 80 cm proved that even under more challenging circumstances, the River of Giants never stops rewarding determination.

UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT
Rob: A seasoned traveler searching for big fish, Rob came to the Marié with one goal — and achieved it in spectacular fashion. After watching his partner land a nice one, he knew it was his turn. Moments later, a violent strike sent his line screaming into the backing. Staying calm, he controlled the chaos and brought to hand an 89 cm, 23 lb peacock bass— the monster he came for.

Gary: After missing a few opportunities early in the week, Gary’s moment finally arrived. His patience was rewarded with a 22 lb peacock bass, and the victory was even sweeter knowing it was his first fish ever from the River of Giants.
Doug: On the final day, Doug still hadn’t landed his trophy. But a giant crushed his fly on his very first morning cast. The fight was short, powerful, and decisive — a 21 lb peacock bass in the net. With his goal achieved, Doug spent the rest of the day celebrating his partner’s success — a true example of teamwork on the water.

Jim: Determined and composed, Jim faced heartbreak when a giant broke his line right after lunch. Instead of giving up, he retied, kept casting, and his persistence paid off. Soon after, he was hooked again — and this time he landed a 89 cm, 22 lb peacock bass. A story of resilience that perfectly captures the Marié spirit.
LOOKING AHEAD
As water levels stabilize, new opportunities are on the horizon. The Marié continues to challenge and reward in equal measure, reminding us that even as conditions change, the pursuit of giants never slows down.
