Marié 2025 Season Fishing Report | Giants, Consistency, and the 14th 90 cm Trophy Week 15 November 16- 23

This week, we welcomed a predominantly American group, and the Marié once again proved why it stands alone as the River of Giants. The fish were active from day one—consistent trophies above 20 lbs, multiple fish pushing the upper-80s, and a remarkable number of heavy, well-conditioned temensis brought to hand.

But the defining moment of the week was something far more significant:
Another true giant crossed the 90 cm mark—our 14th ninety-plus fish of the season.

Fourteen fish over 90 cm in a single season is an extraordinary milestone. It reflects not only the unique conditions of this year but the unmatched potential of this river. Each of these giants is a once-in-a-lifetime catch anywhere else in the world; here, they’re becoming a chapter in an ongoing record-breaking season.

An exceptional week on an outstanding season, offering anglers rare encounters, powerful takes, and the kind of fishing that stays with you long after you leave the water.

UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT

James
From the first push of the skiff, James fished with purpose. On Day 1, he came tight to a true heavyweight — a clean 20-lb fish delivered after a disciplined presentation and a flawless fight. Day 2 brought an almost unreal repeat: another 20-lb trophy to the net, same composure, same precision. Two twenty-pounders in two consecutive days is the kind of start that defines a season. James earned it cast by cast, reading structure, trusting the fly, and keeping pressure exactly where it needed to be.

Mike
Persistence shaped Mike’s entire week. After a giant ate and came unbuttoned earlier in the day, most anglers would have carried that frustration into the next day. Mike didn’t. He reset, kept a steady rhythm, and stayed committed to the structure where the fish had shown itself. Hours later, the same shadow pushed out and crushed the fly again. This time, the fight held from start to finish. Heavy, deliberate runs… the kind of weight you feel deep in the rod. When the fish finally came to hand, it measured an extraordinary 90 cm — becoming the 14th fish over 90 cm of the 2025 season. A landmark catch and proof that on the Marié, persistence isn’t just a virtue. It’s what brings the giants to the net.

LOOKING AHEAD

The coming weeks will call for sharp reading of structure, precise presentations and an eye for movement along the banks. As always, the Marié keeps rewarding those willing to work for the take — its giants continue to show up, proving once again why this river remains one of the most remarkable trophy fisheries on the planet.
