Week 9: Nov. 8 - 15
Weather: The weather in the ninth week of our 2018 season was normal — some showers during the day but sunny the rest of the time. It was cloudy all day the first two days, and there were some showers. The following days were mostly sunny, with rain showers in the afternoon, and the last day it was cloudy with a good amount of rain, as well.
Temperatures ranged between 33–35°C.
River Conditions: The water level was stable at the beginning of the week, but by the third day, it started to rise steadily each day. The streams and creeks dropped a good amount of water on the Marié and Turi rivers.
Fishing Conditions: Fish were very active on the first two days, when the water was stable. As the water levels rose on the third day, the fish (including butterflies and big peacock bass) were slow to eat. On the third day, we started moving up the river to find better fishing conditions, but the river kept rising, and fishing conditions were a bit tough.

Highlight of the Week: Even with three days of rising water, anglers faced the challenge with lot of persistence.We kept the mark ofmore than 10 fish over 15 pounds and 7 fish over 20 pounds, with the biggest being a 24-pound monster (at 90 cm in length),caught by Lusca!Congrats to all anglers who got their peacock bass of a lifetime, despite challenging conditions. That’s Rio Marié – The “Rio de Gigantes”.
