Rio Marié 2023 Season Fishing Report | Week 05 September 24 to October 01

Weather: We had a mostly sunny week.

Temperatures between: 28ºC and 37 ºC

River Conditions: Water level stayed stable during the whole week.

Fishing Summary: Last week we received another great group of friends coming from the US. They came to the jungle to fish for the first time, and they have made an effort to achieve good catches. With the low waters, the usual sight fishing from the sandbars earned the anglers a fishing week they will never forget.

Fishing Stats:

Group: 12 anglers

Butterflies Caught: 626

Temensis Caught: 66

Temensis Over 10lbs: 9

Temensis Over 15lbs: 10

Temensis Over 20lbs: 3

Temensis Over 80cm length: 9

Highlights of the week:

Jeff Massey was casting his fly catching Butterfly Peacock Bass, one after another. Out of nowhere, he saw a bigger mouth opening and swallowing his fly. It was nothing less than a 20lb+ Peacock Bass.

Jason Mccann was at his last day of fishing, had already encountered some big fish but still had landed none. But on the last day, he did not just land a big one, but landed a 20lbs+, a fish of a lifetime.

Rafael Marques and The Marié Guides.
