This was one of the most epic weeks we’ve ever had on the Marié. Every angler in the group landed fish over 80 cm, and two of them surpassed the 90 cm mark — a testament to the river’s unmatched reputation as the home of the world’s largest peacock bass.
The perfect mix of dropping waters and relentless pursuit turned the river into a stage for explosive encounters — line-screaming battles, personal milestones, and moments that embodied the very spirit of the River of Giants.
It was a week defined by persistence and reward, where each strike had the potential to be the fish of a lifetime — and often, it was.
Rio Marié is not only giants, its action in the quantity and quality of the world’s prime peacock bass fishery.

UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT
Matt: On his very first trip to the Marié, Matt joined his father and brother for a family adventure. After landing a solid 18 lb fish, his guide spotted a massive peacock bass cruising nearby.
Matt made the perfect cast — the fish ate instantly — and an intense fight followed, testing his strength and composure. When the battle was over, the giant measured 90 cm, making Matt, at just 18 years old, the youngest angler ever to land such a trophy at the Rio Marié.
Alex: Returning for his second season, Alex was rewarded with the fish of a lifetime. One afternoon, while fishing a remote lagoon, his guide pointed out a wake moving along the edge. Alex’s cast landed precisely where it needed to, and the strike was explosive.
The fight was powerful and nerve-wracking, but Alex kept calm and used every bit of experience he had gained. The result: a 92 cm, 26 lb peacock bass — the largest fish of the season so far, one of the largest ever landed at the Marié. A moment his family — and our team — will never forget.
LOOKING AHEAD
With headwaters operations coming to a close and water levels stabilizing, the Marié is entering its prime season. The weeks ahead promise more giants, more milestones, and the kind of stories only this river can deliver.
